Education

I received both my Bachelors and Masters degrees from Valdosta State University. I graduated with my Masters in Deaf Education on December 13, 2014.

Experience

This is my sixth year teaching and first year at Chapel Hill Middle School.

I started my teaching career in a small town in South Georgia... Nashville, Georgia (I never knew there was a "Nashville" in Georgia until I moved there). I didn't know a single person and was scared to death! However, I stayed there for three years and made the best of friends!

After my third year, I decided to move back home to Covington, Georgia, where I worked for Griffin-Spalding County Schools for two years.

Now, I'm happy to begin my journey here at CHMS!

Bio

I am a Georgia native. I lived in my hometown of Covington, Georgia until I went to Valdosta State, moved back home for a little while and then moved to Nashville, Georgia. Nashville (Berrien County) is where I began my teacher career, and I loved it! Which was a change from how I felt in the beginning, I did not know anyone and was taken aback by ALL the watermelon, peanut, and corn fields! However, it is the best experience I have had thus far!

I was there for three years as the Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TOD) but due to some unfortunate circumstances, I needed to move back home. I then received my second job with Griffin-Spalding county schools as a Special Education Teacher and TOD. During this time, I began dating a man, whom I now proudly call, my husband. We just got married July 1, 2017! I can honestly say my husband, Oscar, is the most supportive and sweetest man I know! Without him, I would not have applied to DCSS, (he is the one who found the job posting)... Now I am happy to be here at CHMS and look forward to what the future holds!
