I was born and raised in Waycross, Georgia and graduated from Ware County High School. I attended Valdosta State University and majored in Middle Grades Education. I graduated with a BS in Middle Grades Education, but decided to travel a bit and became a flight attendant with Delta Airlines. After my initial training, I was assigned home base in Boston, Massachusetts where I lived briefly before transferring to Atlanta, Georgia. I married my college sweetheart and and moved to Douglasville, Georgia. My husband and I started a family a few years after we married and "flying the friendly skies" became very difficult.  I resigned my position and became a "stay-at-home" mom with three children.  As my youngest child entered kindergarten, I wanted to get back into the classroom. I then began my teaching career as a 5th grade teacher for three years before moving to Chapel Hill Middle School in 2004. I love Chapel Hill Middle school and hope to stay here with the best faulty, staff, and student body.
